11:00 a.m. Green Works: Sustainability in the City of Orlando (Panel)

The City of Orlando team, including Chris Castro (Director of Sustainability), Brittany Sellers (Sustainability Project Manager), Joe England (Sustainability Project Manager), and LeAnn Siefferman (Food Waste Coordinator) will discuss the new Green Works Community Action Plan released in October 2018, and what the key priorities are for the City. They will also discuss the recent American Cities Climate Challenge grant they received from Bloomberg Philanthropies and how they expect to utilize those funds to reduce carbon emissions and advance a clean energy future for Orlando. Join this session and help shape Orlando's overall sustainability efforts!

Mayor Dyer launched Green Works Orlando in 2007 to transform Orlando into one of the most environmentally-friendly, economically and socially vibrant communities in the nation. Green Works Orlando represents our commitment to utilizing the City's regional leadership position to build partnerships and share resources that foster positive environmental changes.
Since 2007, the City has led by example, achieving more than $2 million in annual energy savings. The foundation of Green Works Orlando was built on the concept of promoting environmental stewardship, educating people about environmentally conscious lifestyles and encouraging others to incorporate a concern for the environment into the everyday workings of government and private business. The ultimate beneficiaries of our work will be our children and grandchildren. We are continuing our efforts to guide Orlando on a course toward long-term sustainability.
