SmART
Central Florida Earth Day is proud to be the home of the SmART art competition for students in 3rd through 8th grades. SmART is produced by Deb Walters.
SmART is a word mash-up of Science Meets Art. Students will submit works that are created from previously used items = re-purpose, re-use, UP-CYCLE! This year’s theme is “Tiny Houses.” SmARTists are tasked with designing, building, and decorating a house for any animal the size of a squirrel or smaller.
We are happy to have the Orange, Seminole, and Osceola County school systems, as well as private schools, involved in enlisting their students to submit SmART projects. Central Florida students may also submit projects independently.
Awards will be given in four categories for each age group (grades 3-5 and 6-8) as well as three Best of Show awards, with the 1st Best of Show winner earning a plaque for his or her school!
We are proud to have Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge and the Orange County Library System partnering with us! The winning submissions will be displayed at the Chickasaw Branch of the Orange County Library System from April 23 to June 29.
Deadline to register is March 30. See all the details here:
