Volunteer Information
Here is the volunteer schedule. It is subject to continual updates, so please confirm your assignment. If you have any questions or changes contact the Earth Day volunteer coordinator Malila Robinson at [email protected] or 732-241-7631.
There will be three volunteer orientations. New volunteers are strongly urged to attend; previous volunteers are invited to attend but not required.
Saturday, April 15 at 5:00 p.m.--Eola House (park office) at the end of Washington Street across from the children's playground.

General duties
a. Provide information to attendees
b. Clean up trash from the ground
c. Be aware of any issues and report to event organizers
d. Ask smokers to stop or report to event organizers
1. VegCF promotion (for active VegCF members only)
a. Provide information about VegCF events
b. Provide information about local veg establishments and activities
c. Provide literature to attendees
2. Ask-a-Vegan and food sampling table (for vegans only, active VegCF members preferred)
a. Help prepare food giveaways
b. Answer questions about veganism
c. Provide literature to attendees
3. Earth Day Info Guide distribution
a. Give event info guides to attendees
b. Provide information to attendees
4. Sponsor/vendor liaison
a. Check to make sure that sponsors/vendors are set up
b. Provide short breaks to sponsors/vendors
c. Give free t-shirts/bags/water bottles to sponsors
5. Earth Kids zone
a. assist with ongoing and scheduled children's activities
b. ensure safety of children at event
6. T-shirt/water bottles sales
a. Sell t-shirts, water bottles, bags, etc.
b. Provide free water to participants and attendees
7. Clean-up/trash (note that park staff are primarily responsible for this task)
a. Pick up trash from ground
b. Notify park staff of any issues with trash
c. Provide trash/recycling bags
d. Staff waste stations (trash/recycling/composting) and ensure attendees use proper receptacles
8. Set up before event
a. Greet vendors as they arrive
b. Help vendors unload their vehicles and ask them to park as soon as possible
c. Help vendors carry their stuff to their booth space
d. Help vendors locate their booth space
e. Help vendors set up their booth
9. Break down after event
a. Help break down Earth Day Central
b. Help vendors break down their booths
c. Help vendors carry their stuff to their vehicles
d. Make sure that vendors do not drive in the park
